Let's Have You
Jon Wilks and The Grizzly Folk
Jon Wilks
"Cut Flowers were in the middle of rehearsing a new album when we decided to stop working together. It's sad, but it's common for amateur bands who don't get paid anything to make music. I wrote most of the songs for the new album, and following a conversation with my good friend Sakura San, I decided to record a mini album featuring some of my favourite songs.

I finished the record over two days last week, although one song I'm saving for the next release! So here's some information for you. The album is called Jon WIlks and The Grizzly Folk, and the songs are, "Let's Have You", "Faith in the Family", "Before I'm Dead and Gone" and "Keep On Keeping On". The last one was written with my friend from junior high school, Rich Lines. He also wrote the lyrics for "When We Are Famous" by Cut Flowers. The guy's a genius! You can buy the songs from my favourite download site: www.monstar.fm - 300 yen for four songs - so cheap!! Just follow the link right beneath the picture. You can also buy them from the Afronaut Collection on the left side of this page. They'll also be available from my MySpace.

A very cheaply made promotion video for "Faith in the Family" is here, and if you can speak a bit of English, you can catch up on my blog. Lastly, if you want to hear me play these songs live, Dai (from Nanbanjin) and I will be doing solo acoustic performances at Eki Mae Onpo, Hakata,  in June. I'll let you know the dates very soon.

One other thing... thanks to Snocap (a genius company!) you can now buy all the Cut Flowers stuff, including our first MAXI, from the Afronaut Shop to the left of this page. I've also put some songs from my old band, "Gentry," (when I was 18 years old) and some songs from the legendary Cholmondleighs - a band that were everything to everyone in Solihull during my junior high school years. Haha.

Thanks for reading!"
