NANBANJIN  ON YOUR WAY

Having recently completed their first UK tour and YET ANOTHER Japan tour, Nanbanjin returned to the quiet hills of Oita to prepare for their debut album release. Working with Afronaut Records and producer Jon Wilks, the threesome fashioned an angular, angry debut with plenty of bile and a good dose of melody.
Brit boys, Dai Evans and Eoin Jordan, joined forces with New Zealander, Mal Larking, to form Nanbanjin in 2003. Showing a voracious appetite for live performances, the band disintegrated countless Japanese live venues before turning their attentions on the UK in 2006. A highly acclaimed British tour was preceded by a headlining slot at Japan's Concert on the Rock festival.

Debut album On Your Way marks this band out as definite contenders in the years to come.
NANBANJIN                CUT FLOWERS
Cut Flowers consist of two Americans (Warren Fryar and Dave Borgeson) and a Brit (Jon Wilks) and they have been performing around Kyushu and Western Honshu since early 2005. Debut album
Cut Flowers have made a name for themselves in the south of Japan playing good, honesty, cheery pop music. If you need a smile plastered onto that miserable face of yours, here's an album for you. With influnces as broad as Prince and Dylan, they are an eclectic bunch with a do-or-die devotion to strong melody.

Afronaut Records is based in Fukuoka, Japan. It was set up by three producers who wanted to work more closely with the local scene. The first release was On Your Way by the fantastic Brit band, Nanbanjin, and the label has since picked up the rights to recordings by local popsters, Cut Flowers.

The label also works as a promotions company, having helped to organize Concert on the Rock, 2006, plus the first Kyushu tour by Mothercoat, the ground-breaking band from Tokyo.

If you are interested in working with Afronaut Records, in whatever capacity, please feel free to email us.
